This morning we went to the SPAM museum in Austin, MN. As we pulled in we saw a restaurant across the street called Johnny’s Spam-o-rama Restaurant. We got out of the car and it reeked. I gagged so bad I almost puked. Once we got in the museum though it was okay. In fact, it was very cool. They had some funny stuff in the gift shop. They had a SPAM car deodorant, SPAM shirts, basketballs, Christmas ornaments, etc. In the middle of the tour a lady asked us, “Do you want some SPAM?” She had SPAM on a pretzel stick. I tried it and wretched a little. That’s the first time I ever tried SPAM. We left there and drove to Dyersville, Iowa to see the baseball field from “Field of Dreams”. Dad and I threw the baseball around a few times and then we hit some balls. Mom needs me to say that she had the best hit of all of us. We walked out into the corn just like the baseball players in the movie but we didn’t disintegrate or whatever they did. From there we drove to Dubuque, Iowa and took a riverboat ride on the Mississippi River. We saw a bald eagle and we crossed the Illinois and Wisconsin state lines! On the way from Minnesota to Iowa, we hit the 10,000 mile mark for our 50 state tour. That was exciting. That brings this trip to an end. Tomorrow we drive all the way from Iowa to Atlanta. Whew.
