Going Green to Block Island
We went to Plymouth Rock and the park ranger told us that the original size of the rock was 4X bigger than it is today because people have chipped pieces off of the rock. A replica of the Mayflower, called the Mayflower II, sailed from England to Plymouth in 1957 and still sits in the harbor. After touring the Mayflower II, we ate at a restaurant and dad ordered a fruit bowl that was really pretty. We ate some Dunkin' Donuts just before the rough ferry ride to Block Island, RI and as Kermit sang, "It aint easy vein' green". Mom made a return on her donut, but was feeling better pretty quick. Once we were on the Island, we took a bike ride to the Block Island lighthouse and the bluffs. Later we ate on the beach and had a picnic.
