Yesterday we got up and toured the French Quarter in New Orleans. Good thing we got beignets last night because the machine was broken and all we could get was drinks. It was a good thing we got drinks because it was steaming hot. It felt like a thousand degrees. I ate a mufalatta with my mom which we got from the Central Grocery. We saw a bunch of guys painted silver who looked like statues and after lunch a man drew my picture. We left New Orleans after lunch and drove to Gulfport, Mississippi where we walked on the beach for a while and then we went to Gulf Shores, Alabama. That makes 9 states! We wanted to swim in the ocean but the weather report said there would be thunderstorms all day. When we heard the weather report we prayed that God would make it not rain. The sun came out after that and we played on the beach most of the morning and afternoon. We've had a great time on our trip and tomorrow we'll come home. My favorite state was Texas because I got to see my cousins, Georgia, Adeline and Vivian. This was the best vacation I've ever had.
