Gettin' Lucky in Kentucky

Hmmmm. Let's start out with Abraham Lincoln's birthplace. Yesterday we went to Hodgenville, Kentucky to see the place that Abraham Lincoln was born. Lincoln's log cabin had one room. While we were there, I to to build a "Lincoln Logs" Log Cabin. (Frank Lloyd Wright's son invented "Lincoln Logs". His dad was pretty disappointed in him but I think "Lincoln Logs" are cool.) There are 56 steps up to the Lincoln log cabin memorial because that was how old he was when he died. I went to a museum and tried on his hat and beard and IT FIT ME!!!
Let's talk about the tanks now. We were at Fort Knox at the Patton Museum where we saw a bunch of tanks. This is where I found my first penny smasher of the year (I collect smashed pennies. I think it is interesting that the Abraham Lincoln place didn't have any - sorry Abe). We didn't get to go inside but we saw the place where all the gold is stored at Ft. Knox. I saw a big piece of the Berlin Wall and then we learned a lesson about following instructions.
